Many of us, at some point in our lives, experience symptoms of depression or anxiety, and may feel lost and confused about how to deal with these feelings. I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with a passion for helping people to explore their issues and express their feelings in a safe and confidential environment.
My private counselling practice offers a comfortable space in which you are able to speak freely and without judgement. Working together, we can think about what is causing you pain or worry, any underlying causes, and how these issues are affecting your day to day life.
Please feel free to browse the website to find out more about the services that I offer– if you feel that counselling may suit you, please don’t hesitate to contact me either by phone or email to arrange an initial session, where we can discuss your needs.
My name is Kirstie Bratton. I have a Masters Degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy awarded by the University of Leicester, and a BSc (Hons) in Social Work from the University of Lincoln.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and abide by their Ethical Framework for good practice.
I have worked in therapeutic settings with both adults and young people with a range of presenting issues. I have experience of counselling in NHS settings and also in charity organisations, working with short term (time limited) therapy and also open ended counselling.
I offer short or long term counselling for individuals experiencing a range of issues, such as (but not limited to) bereavement, abuse, trauma, self-esteem issues and relationship difficulties. In our initial session, we can discuss what is troubling you, and talk about how we may work together to alleviate your symptoms and gain a better understanding of what is happening.
My psychodynamic approach values the therapeutic relationship, and I am trained to help with both the presenting problem, and any potential underlying causes. Predominantly, I work face to face with clients in my designated therapeutic space, however I am also able to offer telephone or online counselling (via video call) when appropriate.
In your counselling space, you decide what the focus of our sessions will be, and how many sessions you would like. You are free to terminate counselling at any time and you are not bound to a contract. I offer a confidential service that complies with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the details of this will be discussed with you in our initial session.
My fee is £45 per 50 minute session.
In exceptional circumstances a reduced fee may be considered. Please contact me to discuss this.
My counselling room is a comfortable and confidential space in which you are free to discuss what is on your mind.
The location is easily accessible, in a quiet location in Ashby de la Zouch. Parking is freely available. Toilet facilities are available for your use.
The building is accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues.
